Hinged waterfalls filters are a kind of intermediate between the internal filter cups and the external canister filters. As a result, such constructions, on the one hand, do not occupy the usable space of the served capacity, and on the other hand, they do not require a separate site for installation, since they are simply mounted on the side of the aquarium.

The water intake tube is composite, 3-section, which allows changing its length from 14 to 32 cm.
The standard configuration provides for using only sponges as a filler, but depending on the filtration purpose, the aquarist can replace them with activated carbon, zeolite or bioceramics (purchased separately).
The external filter FZN-1, FZN-2 or FZN-3 purchased by you is intended for purification of water in an aquarium. Filters of the FZN series are intended for aquariums with a capacity from 50 to 300 liters, as indicated in the technical specifications. These devices are simple in design and maintenance, even for the novice lover of aquariums. Water is taken from the bottom of the aquarium, pumped through filtration cartridges, and then poured back into the aquarium. Side filtration cartridge is designed primarily for mechanical water purification. Sponge cartridges are made with a special, non-phenolic sponge, on which bacterial cultures are especially easy to develop, which are responsible for removing organic contamination from the aquarium. Biological cleaning takes place predominantly in a ceramic filtration cartridge, which – due to the enormous porous surface – is an ideal medium for the above mentioned bacteria.
CONDITIONS FOR SAFE OPERATION
FZN series filters are made in accordance with current safety standards. Before each operation related to the maintenance of the filter – such as mounting, replacing the cartridges, cleaning, and also before putting your hand into the water, you must disconnect the filter and all other electrical devices that are in the aquarium from the electrical grid. It is not allowed to install a filter with mechanical damage, for example, with a crack or with a damaged supply cable. The power cord must not be replaced, repaired or put a switch or plug on it. If the supply cable is damaged, the entire pump must be replaced. The filter can only be used in rooms for liquids with temperatures up to 35 ° C. The filter can only be mounted in aquariums; use of the filter for other purposes is not allowed! It is also not allowed to run the filter dry, without water.
INSTALLATION AND REGULATION
The filter is hung on the wall of the aquarium. To turn it on, fill the filter vessel (11) with water, and then insert the plug of the power cord into a power outlet. A properly mounted filter soon after switching on (after about 1/2 min) sucks the air out of the suction system and starts pumping water from the aquarium. The pump capacity in a wide range is adjusted by turning the knob located at the top of the overflow unit (2>. The angle of inclination of the filter is set by turning the knob (12).
REPLACEMENT OF FILTRATION PATRONS, CONSERVATION
To replace the filter cartridges, unplug the power plug from the outlet, remove the cover (1), remove the overflow assembly (2), then remove the filter cartridges (3) or (4), (14) or (15) together with their sleeves, and side cartridge (16), wash them or replace them with new ones, then reassemble them. Ceramic cartridge (4) or (15) is enough to wash it every half a year in no chlorine water (eg, taken from the aquarium). The consumer can use, at his discretion, also other filtration cartridges, for example, coal or peat.
The filter is driven by a waterproof, synchronous electric motor (1C), with insignificant conservation requirements. Every few weeks, the best thing is to clean the filtration cartridges, remove it from the socket at the bottom of the vessel (11), remove the rotor chamber cover (5) and remove the rotor (9). Then, thoroughly clean both the rotor (9) and the rotor socket in the pump casing (10) and the engine socket in the vessel (11). After placing the rotor (9) in its place and applying the cover (5), the rotor should rotate without resistance. For this purpose, both nests of the axis (8) must be carefully squeezed all the way into their places (preferably in the wet state).
