Running Aquarium

Running Aquarium

It seems that run aquarium – as simple as that: he drew water, dropped the ground, added a couple of plant bushes, a snag – and fish run. However, if you do this, then the next day you will need to clean the net from aquarium fish, but already floating belly to the top – they just die! Preparing for launch is a very important matter.

We offer step by step instructions launch aquarium for fish.

Preparation of all necessary

First, you must carefully prepare the soil, plants, snag and auxiliary equipment.

2. Soil.
Here everything is a little simpler: when using gravel or pebbles (size is unimportant), then they must be boiled for an hour, in lightly salted water. When using sand, it is necessary to ignite it in a frying pan: there is a lot of dirt in the sand than in pebbles, gravel or drift combined! Sand should be poured into parts in a hot frying pan and “fry” for 30 minutes. The sand often needs to be mixed with a wooden spoon or spatula. After calcining the sand, it is recommended to sift through a fine sieve to remove all random mixtures that are smaller than the sand grain. After these procedures, the soil is ready for use.

3. Aquarium plants.
Aquarium plants must also be disinfected. However, it is not necessary to subject them to heat treatment. First, the purchased plants must be washed with running water. Then collect some of the separated water in a bowl and add two crystals of potassium permanganate to it, so that the water becomes pale pink. Then you need to remove the plants from the potassium permanganate solution and put them in a container with separated water, for example, in a jar. In the bank, the plants must be left for a week: the plants during this time will create their own microclimate and will be able to pass certain stages of adaptation. While we do not touch them.

4. Aquarium.
Everything is simple here: it must be thoroughly rinsed, but household chemicals should never be used for washing. If the tank is bad to rinse and leave at least a drop of "chemistry", then you will be in trouble. Aquarium should be washed with a stiff brush, a new sponge, and soda or salt can be used as detergent.

5. The necessary equipment for the aquarium. This concept includes:

  • Fish Tank Filter – is a device that filters water, retaining various mechanical and organic suspensions: particles of rotting plants, dust particles, etc .;
  • compressor or aerator (this device requires oxygen enrichment of aquarium water);
  • fluorescent lamp – necessary for lighting the aquarium (the intensity and luminous intensity of the lamp depends on certain types of plants and fish living in the new house);
  • thermometer – it is clear why;
  • cover for aquarium must be, because no one has canceled the threat from the outside;
  • sponges, scrapers, nets – it is also clear for what.

Run the aquarium.

Now you can go to the stages of filling a new house for fish with plants, snags, water, soil and residents.

Running Aquarium

The first stage: stele soil.
You can pour the soil in an even layer, you can also create hills and mountains – this is to your taste. However, it is worth considering: a layer of soil, in any case, must be at least four to five centimeters. This is necessary so that the soil does not silt much. Falling asleep should take into account the tastes of fish: some fish love sand, some – pebbles or gravel, and some – gravel and sand in a mixed form. In general, this factor should be taken into account.

The second stage: the installation of snags and other accessories.
Well, there is nothing complicated here: you need to take a piece of paper, a pencil and sketch out the location of the accessories. By the way, this method is the most reasonable, it is used by experienced aquarists. For example: a snag is set a little farther from the center, flat stones, shells, fancy stones, earthen shards, fragments of ceramics, bamboo, coconut shells, etc., lie in an orderly or chaotic order on the bottom.

The third stage: pouring water.
Attention: it is necessary to fill in water with special care to avoid excessive turbidity. How to do it right? Take a bucket of water and a piece of garden hose. It is necessary to lower one end of the hose into the bucket, the other into the aquarium, to the bottom. The bucket must be placed above the aquarium (for this you can use the ladder and put the bucket on the top platform). Then – pure physics: take the end of the hose, placed in the aquarium, in your mouth, make a suction effort – and the water will flow into the aquarium from a bucket. Next, you need to send a stream of water to the glass, and you can avoid turbidity. There is another method: filling the water without a hose, you need to put a deep plate on the bottom of the tank and send water to it: from the plate the water will fill the tank without splashing evenly. After filling the aquarium, we don’t touch it anymore (it’s too early to populate fish and other living creatures).

The fourth stage: connecting the compressor and filter.
Filter size is directly proportional to the size of the aquarium: for small – small, for large – large. Each filter has a power regulator. It is necessary to put the regulator in the middle position. Then, run the compressor also in medium mode. Attention: in the event that the heat in the room, the heater for the aquarium is not needed. If it is cool, then it is required to set a constant water temperature. Basically, the optimum temperature is + 23-25 ° C. No need to turn on the lights. And once again we recall: do not run the fish, do not plant plants!

The aquarium in this state should stand for some time. It is necessary to monitor the changes occurring during the launch of the aquarium:

First to fourth day: it is possible that the water becomes cloudy. This should not scare you: a peculiar microclimate is created at this time, and intervention can cause a violation of the aquarium’s ecology being created;

On the fourth day: you need to plant the first plants in the aquarium. Plants should not be demanding on the parameters of water. It may be: commini, nayas, ambulia, hygrophil, vallisneria, richie.
On the ninth to tenth day: the lights come on. However, only for a certain time, for nine or ten hours a day. At the same time, you need to remove and clean the filter: for 10 days it gets clogged and a thorough cleaning is necessary. (Speaking of cleaning. When cleaning and rinsing the filter, you need to collect the aquarium water in a separate container and rinse the filter in this water). You can run the first inhabitants in a new house: for example, a flock swordsmen. The first day you need to watch the fish, but do not need to feed them (do not be afraid – they will not die).
Eleventh day: feed the fish. It is necessary to give a little feed, as the fish did not eat yesterday. And if you give a lot of food at once, they will have stomach problems. Feed them need twice a day in small portions of the bloodworm. Keep watching.

Running Aquarium

Seventeenth to Twentieth Day: if everything is good and the fish are lively and cheerful, then this means that the ecosystem is established, and it is possible to settle further. But before that you need to replace 10-15 percent of the water, clean the glass, clean the filter again. Depending on the volume of the container, you can further populate it, but it is worth bearing in mind that overpopulation is the enemy not only of the fish, but of the entire ecosystem. It is worth remembering the unspoken rule: for one fish, up to 4-5 cm in size, you need three to four liters of water. Based on this, we conclude how many and who can be settled in the aquarium. Do not forget about snails, because they are a natural laboratory for recycling organic garbage!
Twenty fifth day: cleaning the soil, changing the water – 15 percent of the volume.

Congratulations! Your aquarium is running. That’s the whole launch of the aquarium: it now has its own climate and it works!

Next steps:

  1. Replace water every week, 1/3 of the total water volume;
  2. Clean the filter – also once a week;
  3. Cleaning the soil once a week;
  4. Add variety to the diet of fish.

That’s all for now.
As you can see, the launch of the aquarium is a delicate matter. However, if you show diligence and patience, then the reward will be appropriate: a perfect aquarium!
